Bruce has been looking at and providing light on film sets for almost
thirty years. Starting as a go-fer working with his sister in the US
Virgin Islands he was privileged to work with some wonderful and
skilled Cinematographers as they searched the island locations for
beautiful light. From there he was lucky to expand his resume running
around the globe working on movies and commercials.
After he married his favorite Production Manager, they moved
from Florida to
raise their kids on her family farm in Tennessee. Bruce then went to
work for HGTV and, as a senior producer, shot most of their early
promotional film which established the look and feel of the network.
Lighting style was a huge part of the success of that endeavor and he
was fortunate to work with some very talented folks during that time.
They were always experimenting with new lenses and lighting
equipment and it was a privilege and an education helping push the
network to the top of its genre. In ’02 Bruce left the network and formed
Tantrum Pictures where we produced promotional material for other
networks and shot a few winning PSA’s along the way.
